Where the card
is worth something.

Guild membership is meant to pay for itself, and a good part of that happens away from the stage. These are the Austin businesses that have agreed to look after Guild members: rehearsal rooms, studios, repair benches, print shops, insurers, restaurants and bars. Show your membership and the offer below applies.

We keep the directory deliberately short. A discount list is only useful if a member can read all of it, and a partner is only worth listing if the offer is one a working musician would actually use.

For businesses

Reach the people who buy the gear

Working musicians spend continuously, buy on recommendation, and tell each other everything.

Musicians are an unusually good audience for a local business, and an unusually hard one to reach. They spend continuously rather than occasionally — strings, repairs, rehearsal time, studio time, transport, print, insurance, food at odd hours — and almost none of that spending is decided by advertising. It is decided by the person standing next to them at load-in.

A Guild partnership puts your business inside that conversation. It is not a banner ad on a website nobody visits. Members are told where their card works, they are reminded in the newsletter, and the businesses that treat them well get named on stage and in the green room without any prompting from us.

Partnerships run from $50 to $500 a month depending on placement. The entry level is a directory listing with your offer; the middle adds newsletter presence and a place in the printed material that goes out with every show; the upper end is show-level presence, including your name on the series, on the stage and in the room itself. We will tell you honestly which one fits: a rehearsal room with eight units does not need the same package as a regional gear retailer.

We ask for two things in return. The offer has to be real — a discount a member notices, not a token five per cent — and it has to be honoured without argument at the counter. Partners who do both stay listed for as long as they want to be.

Placement
$50 / month
Directory listing, your offer, and your link — the whole membership sees it.
$150 / month
Directory listing plus newsletter placement and inclusion in printed show material.
$500 / month
All of the above, plus presence at Guild shows: stage mention, signage and the option of a table.

Agreements run month to month. If the membership is not sending you custom, you should be able to leave without a conversation about contracts.
